Had two great days of hunting two new small fields. Special thanks to, Bramblefind on the steamship ID of the baggage tag. Citizens Union Line. The tag is an early Robbins of Boston, the rectangular hole was the early versions of these tags. The 16 star 20MM early Navy button has no back mark, very happy to see this one at the end of the hunt, beautiful. Another 1723 Woods Hibernia. That makes my third Woods, great history reading up on these coins. 1797 Draped Bust. 1822 Large cent. 1784 reale and a 1845 seated half dime. The blowhole button is the nicest I have dug to date.

Congratualtions on the beautiful finds! :notworthy:

I found a button real similar to that recently. Cool finds.

Looks like you have some great spots to explore down your way! The Navy button is drop dead gorgeous! Congrats.

That's a very nice button and the condition is amazing. Hopefully it can be found in Albert's or Tice. Great blowhole as well. I found a few like that one and they generally date to around the 1760's

Thanks, would like to see if there is a 20MM 16 star version listed in either of those sources. The blowhole buttons I have found have come from very early sites. I would say they range from late 1600s into the mid 1700s.

Then, that's what they are. I have both the earlier and later types. Here's an example of the later type.

Thanks Don. Was the NA-9 listed back marked? Just curious.

Only one b/m listed, but nothing uncommon about others or being blank, however, the one listed is high in relative value, meaning worth more than a common variety, so yours is a keeper for sure. (Had an RV value of 40 for the one listed with b/m and 40 is rather good)

Wow Artie, that Navy is a thing of beauty!! The rest of your finds are fantastic too, both in condition (for the most part) and variety. Definitely my kind of digging.

Regarding the blow hole buttons, I have found the heavy brass type like yours, and a more fragile pewter type that must have had iron wire shanks on 1750s/60s French & Indian War sites in my area. But that 's about as early as it gets around here.

But I also find these two piece hollow buttons on the F & I War sites. I believe these are even earlier.

Stunning looking button - congrats!
