Okay. Here's another identifiable I have pulled from my box of "whatsits". I dug this pewter piece at a civil war site where earthworks were bulldozed 20 years ago. This piece is made of pewter and reminds of an eagles wing. Could this be the wing from some type of eagle hat pin or device? Has anyone seen a similar looking wing? If that's even what it is.
There appears to be an attachment on the lower part of the piece. It looks like a flap. I've got 3 attached photos. Thanks again for any help or guesses.
