Here's a period piece from 1976, The Eagles live at The Summit in Houston TX. This concert was recorded and broadcast by KLOL-FM in Houston (aka K101), an AOR format, former freeform-FM station that flipped to Spanish language programming in 2004.
This performance on 11/6/1976 preceded the release of their Hotel California album by only 1 month (released 12/8/1976). This set featured 2 new songs from that album and many earlier Eagles hits, along with Joe Walsh's Rocky Mountain Way and 3 James Gang songs (Turn to Stone, Funk #49 & Walk Away). Joe Walsh had joined the Eagles the year before, after founding member Bernie Leadon left.
This concert happened on Glenn Frey's birthday. Singer-songwriter J.D. Souther makes a guest appearance on The Best of My Love*.
