found this today, the back is smooth, there is no markings or dates on it, almost exact size of a half dollar

I see Greek Key motif around edge, that leads me to believe it is more of a decoration on perhaps a plaque or pen holder or something decorative.

It's the Great Seal.......but other than that I'm not sure what it was on.

It's the Great Seal.......but other than that I'm not sure what it was on.

DFXScout is right its the Great Seal (look on dollar bill) but I cant find a brass example with the greek motif around the edge. My guess is that it was glued to something.
