Perhaps somebody will recognize the button's exact identity just from the single low-quality photo -- but if not, we need better photos of its front, and also photos of its back. Most buttons have a backmark (maker's name on the back), and if this one does we need to know the name.

Pete is exactly right. We need a better photo of both the front and back. It looks old but could be early militia, civil war era, foreign, ect. Tennessee digger

like I said its the only pic I have. Im well aware of backmarks and quality marks. I was hoping someone would have maybe seen one like it before. Thanks for the help HH

Too bad there isn't a better pic. I swear that eagle's wings were "drooping".

Odd looking eagle button.. I know I have seen this button before but I can not place it if i do recall it was early 19th century maybe??? good luck with it.
