✅ SOLVED Eagle buckle/brass thing

A buddy of mine found this and I'm wondering what it is. It's about 2.5" wide and 1.5" tall. It's made of thin brass and was mangled when found. It looks like a military item, but I just don't find enough of that stuff to know exactly what it is.

I just went thru the buckle book and didn't see it exactly. I did hurry thru and could have missed it. But I think you have a Militia eagle plate. There is a better buckle book out there and one of the folks who has it will hopefully check in.

I believe your buckle is listed on page 205 in "Plates and Buckles of the American Military" by Sydney C. Kerksis
