Today I found this old military button from the house where I found a 1915 Silver Canadian Quarter and a 1915 era Bull Durham watch pendant on Saturday. Sorry for the poor quality images.

Since the other items I found are WWI era, is this button also from that time frame? The button is only about 1/2" in diameter. The back is pretty crusty but it seems to be raised.

Thanks!

Not sure on the age but a civilian fashion button for sure.

I think everybody who has ever detected for any length of time has found one of these buttons. I found one at a ghost town from the mid 1800s to the early 1900s. The iron back and lack of detail on the eagle are good clues to it's civilian use.
