Hi everyone!! Found my 200th silver coin with the E-Trac today!! Got out yesterday and today for some serious huntin'.
Sunday finds: watch fob, 8 wheats (teens - '50s; not pictured), and $7.86 in clad (including a sac dollar).
The watch fob is really cool. It was the only good find at a large school site I think had been hit before. Was about 8 inches deep. Junk signal, only dug it because of the depth. At first I thought the back was unmarked, but after cleaning, a handwritten message was revealed. Scratched into the back, it reads: 2nd place 1934 pinetree patrol. Looks like it was written by a kid some 79 years ago!! Cool, huh? Too bad it doesn't have a name or other personal info on it (so I could try to return it).
Monday finds: Decided to try a couple of heavily pounded spots one last time to see if I could pull any more goodies. Nothin'. On a whim, hit a nearby area I'd never tried before. Ended up with a '45 Washington (silver coin no. 35 for the year and no. 200 overall for the E-Trac), 4 wheats ('30s - '50s; not pictured), 2 marbles (one is pretty chewed up), and $1.91 in clad.
Glad I got a cool, personalized item on Sunday (never found anything like that before). What's interesting is that the 200th silver is the EXACT same coin (a '45 Washington) as the first silver, found waaay back in March 2011.
200 silvers in just under 2 1/2 years (I got my E-Trac in March 2011)....not too bad, eh?
Pics of the goodies (and the 200th silver) are below. Enjoy!!
PS- Does anyone know where El Paso, Il is I've lived in Il my whole life and never heard of it...
