please bear with me i am trying to make a smart and the right move here i have the 505its great light machines find qauters dollars and old big copper, and seems stable just not the same functions as the 705 alittle better on some stuff lights, auto trac, aouto ground balance.so any and all input will be greatly appreciated thanks fellas,i knew you guys would come threw oh and bythe way i mostly field for coins and relic but a couple times a year hit the beaches and with the detec.i'll be doing some GOLD prospecting thanks a million. :icon_thumleft:

The 705 has ground tracking, + or - offset possible, light, 4th pattern, 2nd aid for pinpointing, & target ID stabilzer for deep coins. X70/X705 sensitivity goes to 30, X50/X505 to 20, X70/X705 has 2 number increments on ID.

I had the X-Terra 50 & on planted penny 4 1/2" deep, on some passes it had dropped down to foil or iron ID. I don't think this happens on my X-Terra 70 but haven't done planted coins tests yet, due to dry cement-like ground. The X-Terra 70 seems more likely to read high than low on deeper coins. My ground won't get me deep coins, but 5" on XT-70 is fairly competitive.

Hope this helps some & that you get more replies. HH, George (MN)

I forgot to mention the X-Terras have the 1 tone option, but more expensive models make you listen to multiple flute tones on 1 object. Some people can't get used to that, others love it. HH, George (MN)

All the reasons above plus a biggie: SWEEP SPEED
The other machines are great, but from all I've heard and read, you have to go very slow............
As far as depth and sensitivity, my 13 year old son digs .22 shells at 6-10 inches all day with the 6" 18.75 kHz DD if he so chooses. Overall the Xterra 70 has been a great unit, deep, fast and very customizable to any search condition.

so far its the 705x from what i have heard the thing is just great all around machine,i have the 505 and speed is no prob. but but lacking some key features so i might pass this down to the misses.you guys rock thanks for the input.

I had an X-Terra 70 that I traded for an MXT. I also have a Safari. The Safari is a very easy to use machine. It goes very deep on targets. I mainly use it at the beach nowadays. I received the MXT three weeks ago. I have been focusing my time on it.
