WHAT KIND OF TREASURE ARE WE HUNTING TODAY ?
Detector(s) used
MINELAB E TRAC, EXCAL2,QUATTRO,WHITE 6000 DI PRO SL,EAGLE SPECTRUM,SILVER UMAX ,BANDIDO UMAX VARIOUS VINTAGE
been on road almost 2 weeks and finally got the detector out. pretty sad ,huh? anyway i was anxious to try my hh pirate in the surf. misplaced the batteries.so i still do not have an accurate idea of how it will behave in the salt. the etrac was ready to go so i grabbed it. i hunted the beach about 2 hours for a total of 10 cents. having never gotten into the salt surf i kept inching closer to the water. this machine is rock solid in the wet sand no falsing.so i figure what the heck, im gonna try my first salt water hunting. taking an iron grip on etrac i went to inches deep water. which immediately became 2 plus foot deep water.i was only able to hunt about 20 min due to a tired arm from wave action and being oh so careful not to wet my expensive not waterproof machine.i got no signals in the water. daytona beach sure dont seem too good.but ill keep trying. i have now at least entered the ocean once and tried. ideas of sharks seem scary but 2 ft of water or less seems ok. its so hard not to be curious what might be out there.

Good luck with your beach hunting.
I'm sure the finds will increase now that you got your feet wet.

Sounds like you have a stable machine for the wet beach, and light surf. I used to live in New Smyrna, and hunted Daytona on a regular basis. My best finds always came out of the rainwater runoff ditches that were cut into the beach after a storm. Sometimes these would be over 6' deep. Nice rings, and old coins are there, they are just deep, good luck on your digging!

Good luck with it and don't lose it in the surf :-\
the idea is to use the headhunter in the water.the etrac is too expensive to usein the water on a regular basis. i doubt many are doing so. one slip ooops. >:(
