since going back to "work" in the spring I haven't had much of a chance to go detecting, unless you count a couple of scouting missions that failed in the summer.....in a week or so I'll be back in a better position to resume detecting for the fall season full strength. I was making plans to go detecting next week with Iron Patch, but I thought that I would warm up for the dig by passing a couple of hours in a nearby field that has had a few targets in the past. the last good find was a silver spoon hallmarked 1797, I knew there should be coins of the same era nearby, and today at the edge of the field I got a new find for me, a first for me but I think one of the other local guys got one a while back, pretty good shape considering the age and a denomination you don't see too often
so I hope this is a good sign for the upcoming fall hunt
