Still had paint on it. Dug a period steel can. Had paint on it, 1850, area in the high Sierras. Any info, details re flask, I’d be interested to learn more. Will add photo of old can. Dupont made gun powder for the military and civilian population. They quit making it in the mid 70's. However Dupont is still in business making lots of other things.

The powder flask is cool. Typicall the're crushed when dug. Good for you!
