Got this wheatie for change at the local donut shop this morning...it comes within eight years of my oldest dug coin...heck instead of freezing my butt off, I might do just as well sitting around drinking coffee all day... ;D...it's amazing that older coins like these are still being passed around...

It's funny you mentioned this. Since I started MD'ing last summer, I haven't dug a silver quarter or a buffalo nickel from the ground. Yet, I've gotten them in change for early morning coffee. I guess people don't realize what they spend until after that first cup :D

Take care,

Nice find. There was a local guy here who found a gold coin.He got it back in change from a vending machine. It was dirty and he thought it was a nickel.

You're lucky. Most coins from Dunkin Doughnuts have holes in them. ;) ;D
Congrats,

Oh MM! ::) ;D Congrats on your lucky penny! I really, really miss being a bank teller. I've got some great stories!

COOL COIN YOU NEVER KNOW WHATS GOING TO TURN UP IN YOUR CHANGE THESE DAYS :o, I GOT A 1940 JEFFERSON JUST THE OTHER DAY FROM A COKE VENDOR. CHECK THAT CHANGE!

I think kids are robbing their dads coin collection. I hate to admit, but if my father knew how many coins my brother and I stoled from his collection in our younger days to buy candy, he'd kill me. We didn't mean any harm or know the value of a coin collection. ::)

your probably right in this case...the coin is in too good of condition to have been jingling around for 70 years...
lol on your "youthful indiscretions".....

Nice find there. It's definitely worth a few secs to look through change. I got a 1916 wheat back in change a few months ago.
