Yes, i was rooting through my local trailer park dumpster. Two days ago i found quite a bit of copper wire, and a $17 toys r us gift card (gotta call in and check those!) So today i go in, and as im looking through one box of cleaners, i find this! A 1962, U.S Naval Training Center for Great Lakes, IL. The best part is the back! signed by multiple different guys in the crew, and im thinking this could be worth something to a collector, or an old timer that signed this very thing!

:(Who throws stuff like that away? My grandfather and uncle would come down from heaven and slap me. My grandfather was stationed there during Korea and my uncle went through there in 68'. Cool find.

i think your best chance is sentimental value and even then, could you honestly take payment for something like this...

Yea i know, if i could track down the person who owned this im sure he would be VERY happy, and i could never charge for something that is rightfully his!

You could try U.S. Navy veteran forums. Probably some in that class that served in Vietnam. I once found someone who served with my grandfather on the ship he was on in Vietnam. The web sight was about what they called the "brown water navy". It's worth a shot. If not it still is pretty cool. Good Luck.

It really is amazing what people will through away, people give you some funny looks for dumpster diving but oh well. I've sold quite a few items for good $$, and one year during spring clean-up someone had tossed a perfectly good 21 speed mountain bike in their junk pile, only problem a broken reflector. $640 bike!
