To start up my last week at US Bank, I began by dumping $1,100 in cents and $400 in halves at the US Bank branch that I had issues with. For those who don't know, I filed a complaint against them, resulting in my account being shutdown next week on Friday. I have orders of cents coming in the entire week, and it will amount to $1,850.00 by Friday. Anyway, to todays dump. I walked in pulling a kids Radio-Flyer wagon I picked up for $5, carrying 21 bags of Cents. The bank closes at 5, and I came in at 4:36. After my coins being counted, and I was given the $1,063 I pulled my wagon and left the bank at 5:25. The teller didn't seem to thrilled (the one that was rude to me) to have to stay 25 minutes after her day was done. Bring her 180,000 pennies on Friday, and probably 200 nickels a day until then.

Seems like a lot if effort and fees to me... for what? Unless the teller begged you to stop, or broke down in tears, all you seem to have accomplished on this mission is to make the teller do her job... count coins. Probably not the first time she's stayed late... or the last.

But, if you don't mind the effort or the cost... more power to you.

HH...! (Or, dumping...?)

It costs $1 for any amount. It is completely worth it. I got over 1,000 wheats, 8 indian heads (4-1907, 1906, 1905, 1899) and lots of canadians and a probably 15 or 20 dimes.

Only a buck...? Got confused when you said you got $1,063 for $1,100 in cents... plus the cost of the wagon...! lol

And, I completely lost sight of the search... nice! Found my 1st King George VI cent yesterday...1940. haven't done cents in a loooooong time... not so many Canadian cents down here eh?

That's great, a $1 fee is less than 0.1% at that amount. That's over 600 pounds of zinc pennies!

Well played. I once walked into a bank at 5:59 when they close at 6:00 and picked up a box of cents. Next time you should try to walk in right before they close, that will really grind their gears.

I'm starting yo think this is more immature and vindictive than is really necessary.

It definitily is more immature then necessary. It's a way of showing the teller my satisfaction with her customer service. Plus I get to find tons of old coins.

Whoa, whoa back it up. You're pulling wheats at a 1% clip? 25 a box? That's a fantastic rate.

That's actually low for my average. Back in the summer my average was 50-75 per box.

LOL.

LOL! You are hardcore Mr. Schulz! Sounds like you need your own Brinks truck. Might cost a little more than $5 though(check Craigslist lol).

You might want to think about leaving them with the wagon on the last day your account is open as a little memento. Right in the middle of the lobby. Spray paint it "Have a nice day thank for the great service" or something like that.

Make sure you do not get there any earlier than 4:45 or 4:50

That is an epic idea.

This stunt may be immature and petty, but I love it! Of course I've also always been fascinated by the stories of the crotchety old guy that pays his property tax bill in pennies, too.

Sadly the point will be completely lost. The tellers will just think to themselve "what an a-hole", and probably no one in a position of authority will ever know what you did.

I got no issue with this, i believe I was the one that actually mentioned something to the effect in the post. Not sure how you're getting cash on the spot uncounted for them (BoA made me send off a $100 in rolled nickels for counting) but glad you can.
