Well, I haven't been out detecting much lately, but every Saturday I go to my local dump, where there's a shed that folks put stuff that others may want. I picked up some old books, hoping one of 'em might be worth something (they weren't). But in one of them, "The Anxious Days", by Philip Gibbs (1932) I found a series 1934D $10 bill! B mint (NY). Not banner material, but it made it worth my trip.
It's been circulated, so it clearly wasn't stuck away when new. The funny thing is that the book was about The Depression, which I hoped would make the book a timely collectible.
