Went to rid myself of my rejects today. As I got to my normal dump bank, I notice 4 or 5 police cars in the parking lot with several people milling around outside. 2 more police cars pulled in after me. I figured either the bank had been robbed, or had a bomb threat. Either way, I doubted I could get any halves counted. There are about 5 banks I haven't hit in a few weeks in a neighboring town, so I decided to use the problems my bank was apparently having as an excuse to go dump in that town and do a little hunting...like I need an excuse. :tongue3:

I had picked up a total of about $5 in clad halves when I came to my last stop. The very friendly teller had 1 roll and $6.50 loose. As she was counting them out, she said, "There are some really pretty ones in here." I wanted to say, "They sure sound pretty!", but held my tongue. I hear silver and see an obvious proof on top of the pile. I was hoping for silver proofs, but it was not to be. The take:

25 40% including some very shiny and nicely rainbow toned 1967's (SMS maybe? I dunno how to tell)
4 clad proofs (1988S, 1997S, 2001S, 2003S)

The roll was nearly my 3rd lifetime solid silver roll. It contained 19 40% and a lone clad.

Great score. It would be nice to find that kind of silver around here.....Matt

Way to go Arkiebassman! I have never had a road trip where I had anything near what you got. That smokes!

That may be true, but I bet the totals from your best 2 or 3 boxes would beat my lifetime box finds. To find much of anything I have to go run it down.
