Dump charge?

just tell them they can't charge you business fees on a personnel account, thats the common scare tactic from the branch manager.

Which is true, and that might be the end of it. However, also keep in mind that they can also close your account(s) and show you the door. If you need this dump bank, you may have to reach a "happy medium" with them. Find out what they consider "large amounts" of halves and try to come to some sort of compromise if necessary.

This is a smaller branch of 5th 3rd bank...I wouldn't think any manager of a branch could close an account with such a large business?

Maybe, maybe not. If the bank deems that your account(s) are too valuable to lose, then they'll likely work with you. If you have one of those "bare minimum" accounts, they might just decide that you're costing them money and more trouble than your account is worth. I remember reading about that happening to some member right here on this forum, although I do not remember who it was.

All I'm saying, is that if your dumping options are limited, and you need this bank, then I would proceed with caution. I would have a "sit-down" with the manager and try to come to some sort of agreement in lieu of playing hardball right out of the gate.

Just my opinion. Hope everything works out for you. :icon_thumleft:

Ah, I just wont dump there anymore.
Plenty of 5th 3rds out there.. lol
I prefer to use a coin counter anyway

I'd just use this branch as a small dump, and every-so-often type bank.

One option, if it is convenient, is to just use them to dump $100-$150 once a month or two.

Most banks don't mind some dumping...especially if it is smaller amounts.

Played this game with M.&I. Until I took a line of credit loan @ 1% over prime. Took 10K and would dump 5 to 8 K every week and told them to take 500 to 1K each time to pay off the loan. This way I think I went thru 30 to 40K worth of halfs for 99$ interest Oh by the way I bought at a different bank.

That's probably your best option.
