DukeDavis's treasure site! Gun, three gold rings, US Army silver ring and lots more!

I met Duke at daybreak we hunted about 5 and a half hours, First off, much thanks to Duke for letting me hunt his spectacular site. I hope I don't forget anything, here are Dukes finds for today. He found a gold ring, a gun (I think is real) I'm going to clean it, might take a few weeks. 1936 Buffalo nickel, and a Japenese 10 sen 1922 coin (he might have to chime in here with another date, there were two coins each on a chain stuck under a very big rock about twelve inches down that Duke used my AT Pro to find from its deep grave.

I found two gold rings, one 14 k, with what I think is a diamond (I will find out tomorrow) 10 k with green stone, S and a G on it. A United States Army ring marked sterling with a red stone, a 1942 War Nickel and a sterling religious medallion. Some of my pix will have the cleaned up finds from our hunt from Sat, I also found a 1936 Buffalo Sat. along with the 1935 Merc, 1946 Rosie and two sterling rings. The spoon I found at a door knock permission Sun.
Enjoy the pix

Not only great digs, but great pics too! What kind of camera do you use?

Those finds look much better here than they did on my Mickey Mouse phone today lol. Looks like you were beach hunting! Very nice pics and finds.

Awesome finds.
That's one sweet spot you have there!
Congrats.

Great hunt brad!, you've been on a hot streak lately

The pix came from three cameras, Dukes Iphone, my old phone (soon to be replaced with pre ordered Samsung Galaxy Note 4) and my Samsung ST150F that I bought about a year ago for 75 bucks

Dave we were beach hunting a drained lake, silly guy. That soil there was not kind to stuff, those three rings have maker marks and number marks (10k, 14k, sterling) I had to zap them to get them clean. I found very little clad, one of them was a 1966 Rosie that was as green as a Indian coming out of the ground. There was a huge amount of iron and allot of this stuff was laying right on iron. I'm going to stop at the jewelers today with the three rings. Do you have some good makers marks website?

Thanks for the comments guys.

Awsome day! :occasion14:

Thank you for sharing your hunt and those pictures with us

Sweet hunt spot there !! Need some luck out here to get anything good, my field sites are still clogged up with crops =( curses on the market prices making farmers leave stuff out as long as possible !!

Looks like the trip was worth it. I hope you took him out to dinner at least for sharing his treasure trove with you. Boy it must have been fun seeing all those good finds coming out of the ground. Wow

I was very happy to find a gold ring, and also for Treblehunter to find some as well, especially since it was a 4 hour drive. I had a great time, and it helped me get my mind off some personal issues I had been dealing with, also he let me use his AT pro which is awesome since I never got to practice on one, Been using my Ace 350, definitely buying an AT Pro soon! I think this could be the beggining of a good friendship, because I dont have a ton of metal detector buddies to detect with, but next summer I am betting we will see each other again, I have a friend who owns an old colonial house from the 1700s that has old dirt floors in the basement and ruins all over the property, including a blacksmith, school house, etc. We could definintely find some cool stuff there.

Thanks for all the comments, I went to the jewelers and found out the little rope gold rings stone is a diamond. Its my first diamond. The 10 k ring is plated, there is a mark after the 10, it shows 10 G then I guess the recessed mark after it is a F or P. I think the jeweler said "gold fill" that would explain all the green corrosion all over the ring.
Fingerlakes, I have not bought Duke dinner, I have thanked him over and over. We didn't have time to eat, just dig. Someday I do hope to return the favor with him hunting one of my spots. You can count on me going back next summer, not to that lake, but to places close by my cousin. I did see some very good looking prospects for hunting in the water. If I hit it, should only be a one hour trip for him.

Ha thats funny, we both were posting at the same time.

Nice finds and great site. I found a army ring just like that about 10 days ago
