Went back to the spot I have been finding Civil War as well as earlier and later stuff.

20150704_173723[1]_edited.jpg 20150704_173746[1]_edited.jpg. Found an old button, it was folded. I bent it back out as far as I could without breaking it.

20150704_175502[1]_edited.jpg. 20150704_175637[1]_edited.jpg. 20150704_175703[1]_edited.jpg. I'm guessing this is off an old oil lamp, the wheel still turns!

20150704_180148[1]_edited.jpg. Buckle and bullet.

20150704_180353[1]_edited.jpg 20150704_180529[1]_edited.jpg 20150704_180726[1]_edited.jpg 20150704_180852[1]_edited.jpg This was a nice surprise, silver buckle. the second pick shows where someone had etched some x's and I's , strange. There are stamped marks in two of the corners.

Thanks for checking them out.

Very nice, and the scratches make me wonder. A soldier, and those represent his kills? A Casanova, and they represent his lady luck? Lol

That silver buckle is way cool, congrats! Those markings may indicate American made.

Awesome hunt! You recovered some interesting and period artifacts.

the burner unit should be carefully cleaned with baking soda and toothbrush, then try a light wet sand under the faucet with a 800 to 1200 grit to remove the crud but not killing the patina. there are collectors who restore those pieces. I sold a Vulcan complete unit on June 10, it had a patent date of April 4, 1882 and sold for $6.99. the end of knob will have the maker's mark. all your stuff is Super Saver neat!!

JACOB THATS SOME NEAT RELICS YOU HAVE THERE NICE SILVER BUCKLE AND LAMP BURNER , OH ALSO THE BUTTON.

That buckle is absolutely incredible! You have a very special find there my friend. Wow!

You are correct, I cleaned the knob and I see the date of Oct. 1862. Thanks.

The x's could be Roman numeral 10 and the 1's are themselves. That being said 64? Normally though 64 in Roman numerals would be LX1V. If it refers to a date, 1764-1864? I found a Sword throat or Knife Throat on our property that had Roman numerals etched into the Brass and was told it was a regiment number. Just some maybe possibilities. Cool finds! Paul:coffee2:

Beautiful relics, you had a very nice day. Liking the bucket as well.

Your buckle is a museum quality piece.

If you could give me some indication (Just nearby city or town) where you found it, I might be able to identify the silversmith.

That is an awesome silver shoe buckle! I hope you can identify the maker. I have fragment of a silver knee buckle that has roman numerals scratched into it.
