Dug Up An Old Jack Knife

It's 3 1/2 inches long . The handle parts are wood . The blades are rusted beyond recognition . I wonder how old it is ? Interesting how the wood part lasted longer than the blades . It was about 5 - 6 " deep ....up by the the barn .

We had a similar one (as to the crest) on one of these threads within the last two weeks.

i found one nearly identical to that (if i can remember right) let me find the pic and repost.

found it in a civil war training camp (Camp Kane) in northern IL

I think its the same knife let me know what you find out about it.

If that's a button on the bottom side, it may be a switchblade. My Grandpa had one on his dresser (that I coveted).

Ace, the general shape of yours looks like what I've always heard called an Electrician's Knife.
Still a jack knife though, by golly.
