As most of you know, coin collecting dovetails nicely with the MD'ing hobby. In my quest to find obsolete coins, I had an idea of what to do with some of the clad I dig up..I decided to do the next best thing and cash them in to purchase old coins for my collection.
I started looking for bargains at local coin dealers and bought this MS-60 Morgan in exchange for $15 in clad.
I also bought a Barber set (Halves, quarters and dimes), a few Flying Eagle cents and 2 really nice Peace dollars, all with clad I dug up. These were nice to add to my collection until I find the real thing.
Then, since I'm a musician, I used the rest to buy this
If you pile up the loose change you find, you can always put it toward some kind of reward for yourself after all that work, telling people you purchased it with the money you "made" treasure hunting.
