Looks like it might have been used for stretching barb wire, or fences...
Good luck with ID'ing it...& Happy hunting~

COOL FIND!! Are the faces hollow or solid? how long is it? Looks like the butt end was defiantly used for prying, notice how the weight reducing holes get bigger as you get towards the head. I would say a tire iron if the faces of the hammer are hollow.

lift hot horseshoes out of the fire with the hook, set them in a vice grip while tightening the grip with your other hand, then snug it up real tight with the tool, then bang it into shape. just guessin. have no idea. find a really old man and ask him. they know everything.

Some sort of tack hammer. Its about ten inches long and has tack puller type ends on both the head and the handle end .Any one have any ideas on its specific purpose or relative age??Thanks...JO

Looks like a shingle nail removing tool. Pop it under a shingle, hook the nail and hammer the tool to cut the nail??
Cool though!

I have a magazine at the house that showes one of these, I will have to dig and find it and see what they were calling it. The magazine was "Farm Collector"

it's a barb wire stretching hammer. you carry it in your saddle bag.
the hook is for pulling the wire around a post, the point is for pulling staples,
the forked end is for twisting the wire to tighten it
