No... shaped different and brass..this is round also...not oval like your pic

Agree with Back of the Boat. They come in many shapes and sizes and brass ones are common.

well i think its obviously from a snap. whether its from a dog or a horse would probably come down to size. cant really tell how big yours is. since there is nothing for scale in your photo.

Correct... although no telling what type of chain it would be from ... but... dog chain is as good as any guess.

not to be a worry wort and a debbie downer. But this should definitely be in the "what is it" section. And if you had read before you posted, the sticked thread in bold Capatialzed READ BEFORE POSTING. you would of discovered you should state the size of your item. OR better yet place an easily recognized everyday object in frame for scale. It really helps people on here make the correct ID. those moderator threads before the main section of each forum are really helpful to new members. I know i learned some things when i read them
