hi, I have e-mailed the picture of this carving to UF art and history and a few others no one has ever seen one. The background...In the '60's I lived in Sebring Fl. on the "Indian Streets". The houses were quite old even back then and ours had a courtyard that was an old garden. I was digging when I found it and have kept it all these years. It appears to represent a Native-American male with a Mohawk-style "crest" haircut. Note that he has no head-hair in front of, above, nor behind his ears. Also, he has no facial hair, which is a genetic characteristic of most Native-Americans.
