Looks like some kind of stock buckle.
Take Care,
Pete, :hello:

Stock Buckle
Daniel Rogers (1735-1816)
Ipswich, Massachusetts, 1757-1800
Silver
H. 1 ¾, W. 1/8, D. ¼ in.
Gift of Mrs. Lucy Haskell Sturtevant
1925.368 b
Inscription: Impressed “DR”

Stock buckles were used by men in the eighteenth century to secure a style of neck scarf called a stock. These buckles are similar in construction to belt and shoe buckles but were usually rectangular in shape and had buttons attached to the roll that would fit into the buttonholes on the stock. While stock buckles were usually hidden by the wearer’s wig and were often plainly decorated, some, like this sterling silver buckle made by Daniel Rogers of Ipswich, Massachusetts, were made from expensive materials.

Definitely part of a stock buckle. The 4-stud ones are generally later than the 3-stud. Late 1700's to early 1800's.

Hi,

I believe the second item is a flint lock. Someone I know found one just like yours and he identified it right away, he sure knows his stuff. As for what kind of gun it was on, good luck! :P

My best guess for your other piece is some kind of turnbuckle (broke end).I seen on fishing boats(trawl boats) turnbuckles with the eye in one end like that and I've used marlin spikes to tighten them with by sticking it in that eye,the bur part may be another way they made them for tighting them as well. The wore out grove could be from it being tied down.We do that some on boats to help it sturdy for stay wires.
Hard to tell how big your piece is though to say for sure with nothing in the shot for size. :icon_scratch:

Yeah I can see how you might think it was a frizzen, but... it's not. Turnbuckle or some bit o; ag hardware. Not Colonial, that's for sure.
