That's a GREAT afternoon! "Dug some history" is a good way to say it, as this is a really nice set of finds. Congrats to you Terry! :occasion14:

You did really well considering the massive array of power lines nearby in the one photo. They would of played havoc on my brain as my detector loves to let me know that overhead power cables are nearby. Congrats!!

Large cent = :cat:

Musket balls = :hello2:

Hey TS!! Nice Finds!! Must have fallen out of that PODS container!! He He!! Anyway, GOOD LUCK and GOOD HUNTING!! VERDE!!

Nice hunt. Anytime I see a large Oak tree I get excited as to what it may be hiding beneath the Dew Line. Folks resting, pick nicking, playing checkers, Military personnel planning the next strategy, etc are examples of who could have lost something. Don't forget to turn that coil at an angle around the base either.

I did get some EMI, but I threw the Ground Balance to "High," and darn if most of it went away! I really love this little Mojave, especially in heavy trash! :skullflag:

awesome hunt, I would be thrilled with that haul!

Dang it always fun finding musketballs

Terry Rocks, but we already knew that!

Awesome...man that 'ole' Oak held some sweet finds...Cool hunt !!

A big Thank You!, to all of you. I want to say to all the new members and beginning detectorist's out there, this hunt was not the norm. I spent close to three-hours, detecting an area that stretched from the base of the tree, out to about 12-feet, so somewhere around 140-square feet. Not a lot of area. I used very low discrimination (just above foil), and dug dozens of pieces of can slaw, pulltabs, and aluminum bottle tops. My research on the area as a stage coach stop and 1800s intersection paid off. Location, location, location. However, the other 60% of ANY treasure hunt - Luck, favored me yesterday. Oh, and I'm sore as heck today!

A very Good day and hunt indeed Mr. Terry. Anytime that History is brought up from below to the surface it is a Great Day. Well Done sir.

Terry, nice finds, hit the right spot! Shows what a little research and knowledge can do with some payoff and persistence. You got that from the grass area around the old oak and it is cool! Congrats:icon_thumright:
