Had an unforgettable day today! Took the new nox 600 to a permission that my friend has. It was supposedly a field hospital during the war. I hear this all the time, so I was skeptical, BUT....

NOW I BELIEVE!

Unfortunately, the entire property will be bull dozed next week, which SUCKS, but at least we got to hit it for a day. We found a bunch of pottery, trash, etc. But this was the find of the day. I also need to add that I am NOT a relic hunter so this is the first Civil War Button. Anyone have any info? I know it is two piece, but unfortunately I don't even know which side it is from. Any id help would be AWESOME! Thanks!!

Its a Union general service button. The Northern troops used them on their 4 button uniforms. Nice find. That first one is always special.

You won't forget your first. Eagle buttons are sweet finds in any condition. Congratulations!

Congrats on the nice button.:icon_thumright:

Is there a backmark to add more info?

Awesome button, congrats! Consider it a last-second save before the bulldozers...

Congrats on your first Civil War button. Any Civil War relic is a great find.

looks like you found yourself a real beauty there, congrats!!

Nice find. Can you hunt that site when they clear it? If I could I would hit the cleared land as well as the dirt piles.
