Dug Bullet Finds

NEED HELP IN IDENTIFYING THESE BULLETS DUG AND FOUND IN CENTRAL ARKANSAS NEAR A CIVIL WAR BATTLEFIELD FOUGHT IN AUGUST OF 1863. FROM L TO R: THE FIRST BULLET IS UNFIRED. THE WHITE LEAD BULLET PIECE IS HOLLOWED OUT AT THE BOTTOM, BUT LOOKS TO BE UNATTACHED FROM IT'S SHELL/PAPER CARTRIDGE/ETC. I CAB SEE A 1862 DATE ON THIS BULLET. THE THIRD BULLET IS VERY UNIQUE, AND WAS TOLD BY A CIVIL WAR DEALER IT IS A CARVED BULLET USED FOR PLAYING "CHESS". STILL NOT SURE OF WHAT KIND OF BULLET'S THESE ARE? ANY HELP IN IDENTIFYING THESE BULLET,S, MANUFACTUER'S NAMES, CALIBER'S, ETC. WOULD BE HELPFUL. THANK YOU!

The first one is a "modern" jacketed bullet. Without knowing the diameter I can't tell you what cartridge it might be from. It reminds me of a 170 grain 30-30 round nose that is a much used caliber for Arkansas deer hunters. (I hunt deer in Arkansas often). The second could be a civil war bullet, or not, but the pic is not good enough to tell. Ditto the lasts bullet. To make a fairly good ID, there are several here on Tnet that are very good, but they need measurements and pics with several views of the bullets. OH, and some are sensitive to all caps posts because that usually repesents yelling on the computer. Thanks for submitting. Mnty

Thank you for responding!! This is my first post, and appreciate the comments on what I need to do in providing more information for all members to help me identify real relics from non-relics. I have for sure found a lot of different Civil War Relics metal detecting and then the ones passed down, and will be posting more pictures in the "What is it" section! Thank you so much!

The first one is a modern bullet as Monty said, I'd need measurements on the second one to help. The third one I think is more likely a spike off of a dog collar but I'm sure it's not a bullet.

Last one is possibly Civil War 55 cal Hanoverian.

What type of metal is #3? Not lead? Not a bullet (or a dog collar spike).

I think it is a bayonet scabbard tip. Not 100% sure but I believe this one is pre-civil war. Possibly from a British Brown Bess scabbard.

Matt, It's similar to the scabbard tip, but not quite, unless it's broken. I was making my guess of not a bullet from the color, it appears to be rusted. I just checked a collar spike I found and it's not magnetic and not iron.....So I might be wrong here. It's got me wondering now though

Just my thoughts But. The first looks to be like Monty said a 30-30 modern bullit , the second might be a Civil War bullit But we need measurements of the
Diameter and Length to know for sure......the third in my opinion is Not a bullit at all......jmho......HH

Thank all of you for your Replies! I am in the faulkner county area, but believe most all of these relics in my possesion were found in the Lonoke County area on my father's grandfather's land in the 70's. I am going to upload of what I think are some real good finds related to the Civil War, but have seen 18th century dates on s ome relics. Most relics were burned or slightly burned in Battle. On the Bullets, I will also retake pictures and measure as well. If anyone would like a different position of any relic pic I post, please feel free to let me know. Most of these relics were found by my father who passed when I was a child, but he kept all his finds without cleaning them including some Arkansas C.S. Buttons I believe. Some are very hard to identify, but will appreciate all of the help I can get from you all! Definitely interesting finds! They were all excavated relics found metal detecting. Thank You!
