Wow...I am smoked. I decided today was the day to dig all of the low conductive signals at my newest park. I dug ALL VDI's 8-47 (and penny/dime of course) no matter how jumpy or unreliable. Only covered an area about 15X40, but that was enough! I did this yesterday as well, but was VERY selective in my signals and depth. Here's the post... http://forum.treasurenet.com/index.php/topic,274260.0.html Today was far more successful, but it's only a trifecta in the same since as a technical knockout...so I guess it's a technical trifecta. I threw in a couple of pictures of the park as well, an old tree and an old stage with an artillery piece in the background. Here's the kills...

1 War Nickel 1943 "P"
1 Wheat Cent 1934
3 Regular Nickels 1940, 1949, and 1978
3 Buffs (only found one ever before this!) 1934, 1937, and No Date
2 buttons
1 zipper
3 lightbulbs
1 pound can slaw
1/2 pound foil
and.....
82 #@*!$#%^@! PULLTABS!!!
Thanks for lookin"!

That's what I'm talkin' about! Persistence and perseverance is what it takes. You my friend, did a great job!

What's up ashleysflyr?!?! Me again, njnydigger. You are F-L-Y-I-N-G high with that MXT :headbang: Glad to see you had a good day. I'd say you had a great day  Couple more tips from one MXT man to another. First, don't be afraid to crank the gain all the way up. I normally hunt with the gain at two and a half or three. It's noisy, but, with the added depth, i'll work through it anytime :) If it is TOO unstable, you can always lower it to 1 or 2 for less noise. If you want to hunt near playground equipment or fences (as most of us do from time to time) drop the gain to 5, 6 or 7 and you can get pretty close to the equipment without getting an overload signal. The factory presets are for beginners. Sounds like you are a bit more advanced. If you want to find the goodies others left behind over the years, DON'T use the factory pre-sets. Crank the gain & lower the discrimination. The MXT is one of the deepest seeking machines currently available. One 2 or 3 other machines can top the depth. And even THAT is debatable. Finally, most of my gold and jewelry comes in at the 6, 8 pr 10 VDI range on my MXT. So, pay close attention to this range. The teens also. And for the larger jewelry stuff, it can be anywhere from the 20's on up. Yes, in the trashy areas. If I am working a place that is TOO trashy, I will sometimes skip all the 20, 30 and 40 VDI ranges. It just doesn't pay for me to dig through 10,000 pull-tabs and bottlecaps to MAYBE find a ring or jewelry. The site should always dictate your hunting style. Some sites you might want to cherry pick at, and others like an old battleground, very old house, etc. you'd want to dig EVERY signal. Super hunt. Keep it up

Awesome dude! That is some hardcore detecting! And great finds to pay off for all the work! I'm going to have to try that some day.

now see if every one did what you did today there would be bannerd galore tomorow nice and I know the hard work you did awsome tom :headbang: :coffee2: wtg rob

Now thats alotta diggin. :o Perhaps the next time there will be gold waiting for you.

I think somebody needs to buy you a drink. :occasion14:

That's a lot of diggin. I keep saying I'm going to do that. Maybe after I get the knees replaced. :D

All jokes aside, the goodies are out there but we've become so lazy with the new technology that will seperate the trash from the treasure that we've forgotten what it takes to acually find the treasure. All the old timers that came before us had to dig everything. They didn't find it all, there's still some left for us. Now we've got to learn how to find it and I think you just did. Dig all signals. :headbang:

Great hunt.

Hey Man , Good on ya for all that perserverance - digging all them pull tabs will pay - two days

ago at a park , I dug a 22 VDI which on the MXT is likely a pulltab - I scored a men's 18K

ring that weighs a solid 10 grams (aprox $300.00 bucks in gold value) This is my first decent

karat gold ring in 2 and a half years of hunting with the MXT. My rule on hunting trash is

if i'm in a location that sees a lot of activity - ie. park ,swimming hole ,or beach , then I will

dig any signals from about +5 thru about + 55 as long as the numbers are fairly consistent

when I cross check them at 90* ( not bouncing all over the VDI scale ) of course I'll dig

all those +70 thru +94 as well . The MXT is a very solid machine ! Argentium.

sweet detecting, sometimes I hit old schools and do the same thing, it is fun to see what comes up! I don't think I have ever seen anyone dig 3 buffalos in one day!

You deserved the rewards :o for all that hard work :notworthy:

First of all...thanks for all the replies!
Goes4ever-Love the name man...I had only dug one buff in a year before this!
Argentium-I like the 90 degree idea, LOVE that MXT and can't WAIT to get gold!
Crazyjarhead-I AM serious :( ...lol.
gmanlight-gold is what kept me diggin'...I thought "surely there has to be a ring down here somewher"...
NjNydigger-I figure now I can crank the gain all the way up...especially after a good rain!
RPG-I had a drink on the desk whilst typing!!!

From someone who digs all targets, I know how much work that was. I've dug a lot of garbage, but that honestly beats anything I've got in one day.

It does seem like you should have won some kind of award. :icon_thumright:
