Hey Folks!

Got out digging a couple days ago w/my Dad. Dug this very rare fruit jar. "THE LADIES FAVORITE" with a ladie holding a jar embossed on the front. Check out her old style bell dress. The back reads"Wm.L.HALLER CARLISLE Pa."The jar is listed as $7500 to $9000. Mine has a big chip out of the lip though. Still very cool to dig such a rare jar in any condition. As I was walking to the dump my Dad was telling me a story about an amber midget beaver jar he dug back in the 70's. I proceeded to tell him how the jars were the least intresting of the glass to dig for me. Funny how it works sometimes. Anyway here are some pictures for ya.

Happy Huntin', Bent-Twig.

Nice find Bent!! I'd go looking alot more there just in case there's another one!!

That's a dandy, to bad about the chip. But like jrsherman said above, there just might be another one there!

I have built up chips with epoxy (and even clear nail polish for the smaller ones), but that chip would take some time.
Congrats on a super neat bottle !!

WOW :o Thats a great image on the jar. Maybe there are more there?

Hey folks,

Listed this on E-bay a week ago and it sold for $750. dollars. Not bad for a broken jar!! I had no idea a broken piece could be so popular. I am more fond of historical flasks than jars so I thought I would sell it and buy myself some historical flasks.

Wow that's nice chunk of money for a broken jar. I guess when you look at it other than the broken lip that jar is in almost perfect shape. Who ever bought it could get it fixed and have a compleat jar for less than a third of the price. Nice find.

Do you know any good repairmen? How much does a good repair cost

Twig.

Might find somebody on this site http://www.antiquebottles.com/cleaning.html.
That is an extremely cool jar. Would definately get it professionally repaired. To bad it wasn't full of coins.....or was it?

Awesome find - congrats!!!!
