Does anyone recognize what this came off of? It's stamped Sterling on the barrel end. I dug it from a construction site tonight. Most everything we have dug at this location has been 1850's - 1930's.
Is it too big to be a watch winder? It looks like it has a small rusty rod broke off inside the barrel.

Nice find Garren!
I'm thinking this is the 'finger portion' from a pair of Victorian sewing scissors.

Agreed. (although "Victorian" is questionable due to production of these spams time)

Solved.

As you're well aware my friend, the term 'Victorian' is a general term I use for anything dating from 1837 - 1901. :laughing7:
Stylistically this piece may date as late as the Edwardian Period.

Dave that is hilarious great ID. I could put a pin size hot wheel axle in my disposal then burn it then bash it with a hammer and paint it blue and someone would ID it lol
