Dug A Huge Cache Yesterday.....

No goodies for me at the woods yesterday but my day did get better.

Went to a lakeshore park like Seated said and dug a hug cache of.................wait for it................PULL TABS!
18+(I stopped digging and there were more) in the SAME HOLE!!!! My guess is that some other detectorist decided
to bury all his pull tab finds in a 6-7" deep hole. If it was you, next time how about leaving a goodie or two in there
as well. Anyway, I also found a heart pennant(might be silver) and about $7.00 in change including two wheaties.
One notible clad dig: A trifecta of pennies! A wheat, a memorial, and a canadian in the same hole. How cool is that?

Look at the bright side - I'd rather get 18 in one hole than have to dig 18 seperate holes for them! A few more caches like that and you'll be due for a gold ring!

Good call. I was reading a thread somewhere about the pulltab to gold ring ratio. It was something like 100 to 1? This certainly gave me a leg up!

I left a piece of paper with them saying " You just found all my pull tabs I dug today " It must have disintegrated . Darn I knew I should have put them in a plastic bag......

Yep, unless it's a frequently used field where the park lawncare guys no longer mulch canslaw into the turf the ratio is actually a little higher in my experience. Somewhere in the 2000+ canslaw, pulltab and screwcap to gold ratio. Especially if you dig those faint, deep signals that are actually miniscule near-surface tidbits of trash.
