Same general weather conditions today in SoCal like yesterday cloudy and overcast. I was out around 11:00 am for a couple of hours just hunting dry sand traffic areas down at one of my local beaches.

Some of us joke around here about hunting the dry sand...why bother? I've looked over my record books for the last five years and a good 30% of my finds have come from dry sand hunts.

That's the great thing about detecting you just never know what you might come across. High Tide Low Tide Wet or Dry what the heck...just get out there and enjoy the hunt...

Happy Hunting

I absolutely agree with you! I pulled to gold rings (Pics are posted here somewhere) from the same hole just down from T street beach in San Clemente. Where are you in SoCal? The freeway project in LaMirada Calif is tearing up sidewalks, Roads, Knocking down buildings from the 40s 50s and 60s. Been driving by drooling over all that fresh dirt. Know anyone that has sniffed it? I want to go!

That is one big silver chain! My first platinum ring came outta the dry sand! Don't discount the towel line.....no way! Hunt it all.

I've always done pretty well in dry sand. Congrats on that nice silver chain.
