Went out into the woods today again. Went through the creek bottoms and i'm now up to a grand total of 3 pennies. The creek is in the middle of some old dirt bike trails and full of cans. The plus side is that its sand and easy to dig, the downside is that the sand leaks back into the whole when its dry :(

That sounds like fun! Maybe you need a sand scoup. Try to find "swimming holes" in the creek bed where people may have jumped in the water at some point in time. Also bends in the creek where stuff might have got caught in the eddies. Keep an eye out for old foot bridges... old cement pillars or foundations for old crossings.

I know exactly what you mean with the bridge, I drive by an old concrete one all the time but going there won't be exactly legal lol
