The ground is so damn dry and hard here that I can't get a shovel more than an inch deep. We need rain!!!!

Any water near you? Best shoreline hunting I had was during a prolonged drought. Lots on land uncovered that had been under water for years. And there are also sand and wood hip play lots and volleyball courts to hunt.
