Havent been hunting much this past week and when I did the finds were sparse. A few indians was about it. Today I left work early and concentrated my efforts on the other side of the seated field were a home once stood. Finds were sparse again but I did manage my first large cent of the year and only my second Draped bust but it was converted to a washer:BangHead: I also got a Blaine and Logan 1884 Republican presidential campaign token. They lost in a close race to Grover Cleveland. I included a non dug pic of the back. Thank you internet.

I've got a cuuple of two cent coins that were drilled and used for washers. I doubt the washer cost more than the face value of the coin. My guess is the cost to go get the correct washer forced folks to do this.

Nice finds anyway and thanks for sharing.

Awesome token and draped bust. I'm pretty sure the hole was made to put it on a chain or string. Congrats on two excellent finds

Great finds nothing much that old here in Michigan Great Job!!!!!!!

You have been pulling some neat relics, and BAM out of nowhere here are 2 sweet finds. Congrats on pulling those keepers.

I really like the campaign token. The holed coppers are always fun to find too. Congrats!

Even with the hole a draped bust copper is really nice! Great token too

Those are two nice old greenies! I would be quite happy to see those in my pouch at the end of the hunt.

Well played sir!

nice finds! ive yet to find a token but im looking.

The center holed large cents were often used on slate roofs as every slate was held on with one or two nails and large copper washers. I found three KG3s with center holes at a colonial church. The pastor told me they found a lot of them on the roof when some repairs were done in the 1960s. Always nice to find such old relics!
