Likely, but please describe the circumstances of how you found it? Medal detecting, for sure. If you picked this off the sidewalk well, I'd have my doubts.

No, I found this in a fairly dense wooded area. It was about 6" inches down, not far from a stone wall I was detecting near.

Update: Turns out it's a British half penny, too much damage to do ultrasonic cleaning, it's even worse on the opposite side. Going to soak it in olive oil for a while to see if I can get a date on it.

it fooled the best of the best, should have left it alone and tried to pass it to auction as a worn draped bust half cent.

Nah, still a cool find anyway regardless of the value!

Sent from my iPhone using TreasureNet

This kinda sounds a lil sleazy and low.

Great find marh415.

excuse me but not everyone has rapper kind of money, this might have been his only chance.

50 right to a point it's not always about the money but the love of the hobby treasure hunter for life

Fiddy sayz it once and I sayz it again, if there were no money involved treasure hunting wouldn't exist in da first place.
