Had a great morning out today with a friend. I found the 1825 capped bust dime (thanks Greylock!), 17?3 KGIII (Hibernia?), and this very interesting die made out of lead. It seems to be fashioned from a musket ball. The 2 musket balls were found in the same hole as the die.

That's a great looking capped bust dime

Awesome finds my friend. That dime is incredible. :hello:

Sweet finds. One could go a lifetime without finding a capped bust dime--I know I have!

Looks like someone had a great day! Nice capped bust dime. Nicely balanced honest, even wear. Great find!

Those are awesome finds! Incredible detail on the dime , congrats!

Every item is a great find. I love looking at everyone's finds. How many of you are like me? Each find I get I hold it and wish it could tell me it's history and how it ended up where I found it.

Nice dime and the dice is a cool find as it's something that's not dug up often.

Great finds, congrats.

I like that 6-sided die.

Some people never find a KGIII, and fewer still find a Capped Bust dime. All these finds in one hunt... yeah I'd say that was a good day :icon_thumleft:

Just wondering how deep that dime was.

Yeah, it was a great day! The dime is what really blew me away. It was at about 6". The video of the the hunt (and others) is here:

There are 5 different varieties of this dime. You have a JR-4, ....common. BUT....a very fine example. Congrats....Hogge

Hogge: Do you have a reference for that? I'd love to read up on it. Also, can you date it? Thanks!

Check the date on that one. I believe that it is either an 1823 or an 1829 which has that type of "2" on it, or a "Fancy" two is worth quite a bit. I am not sure if that pertains to the other dates or not. It may be common like the one post says.
