You can check them out online.....they start from 175.00 to 3,500
one that will do a good job is the seadoo that is orange and black not sure of the model but its 799.00

Chagy.........

I own a couple of SeaDoo bombardiers (the $350 model) and while it does the job of towing to-and-from a dive site quite well, it doesn't do a very good job of moving sand (my opinion). Sometimes I think I'm better off hand-fanning instead.

In all fairness to the manufacturer, they do the job that they were designed for quite well (i.e. towing divers). Battery life is advertised as being up to an hour depending on water temperature, age of batteries, etc. My experience has been that the batteries will actually last a bit longer than this if they are charged and completely discharged on a regular basis. One other tip here is that the batteries that SeaDoo sends with theses DPV's are the same style of batteries that are used in a standard computer UPS. So, as a money saving tip, don't buy the extra batteries for this model. Buy a couple of UPS batteries instead. They last just as long and are more affordably priced. The only difference is the connector, which I have replaced on my units with a connector from a local electrical supplier (Radio Shack, computer store, etc.)

For moving sand with other units I will defer to the other more knowledgable members of the forum that have experience with other models.

Hope this information helps.

the one we were using in the video that RGecy posted in your other thread is the small seadoo model the one that is 399.00 and as you can see it does great....the one that I suggested the back and orange one is a little bit better for 799.00 and for a few hundred more you can get the torpedo for 999.00 I have never used a torpedo so I don't know the difference between the torpedo and the 799.99 seadoo model

Luis, I actually thought the smaller seadoo did a better job than the newer more expensive one Scott bought.

The smaller sea doo does a good job moving sand. They just don't hold up well. The biggest issue for us has been the switches. So far the larger one has out lasted two of the smaller ones.

I use tekna DV3X's i have 2 of them.with new high amp hour gel cell batteries they last 4 hours in the water at half thrust.seadoos are kids toys, all thats in them is a cordless drill motor, they wont last long.teknas have over 20 brushes in thier motors, plus have adjustable blades for different thrust.i worked at NUC(naval underwater center) in hawaii designing and building several DPV's for them.plus have built many other types on my own out of 40 an 80lb trolling motors.i think i still have some plans for a farallon type of DPV around here.plus some plans for a dual motor DPV as well.can build them for less than $200.trolling motors can be had for next to nothing at your local steel scrap yard.
