I've been trying to do some research on a few of my favorite points.. And this little point I found in Chilton county, Alabama is called an Autuaga point. Which is the county directly under Chilton. But way back when Autuaga used to be much bigger, it included Baker county which again soon turned into Chilton county. I know none of this means much to most of yall but I thought it was cool that this point was named for the specific area where I grew up.... Anyways sorry for rambling and thanks for reading. By the way has anybody else ever heard of this point anywhere else around the South IMG_20170508_175706.jpg1494285643996.jpeg

Somewhere I have one of these. Found in Autuaga north of Prattville. Mine has two "barbs" on each side. Extremely elaborate and delicate little point. Mine was dropped on concrete and broken. It's held together with super glue now. Glad to see another one!

Glad to see someone else thats found one and yeah Tony its white quartz.... Seems to be the material of choice around here

I would of thought it would be a Bakers Creek if I had found it. Nice point

My bro found the one on the left in NM. Similar?

What crj1968 has looks like a bakers creek.... Mine has two little barbs on each side. Dont know if mY picture does it justice, but it seemed to fit the Autuaga point description better

I don't know point types either, not something I really care about I guess.

One day you might want to learn I dont find many so it gives me another thrill to try and look them up. I get about a third rite. Now on the flaking I can tell you the age and be close.
