Dovetail

Found this dovetail last week. Another creek find. Notice the pronounced grinding in the notches. Also the chip on the side almost looks ground to me as well but I guess it's just chipped....too bad. Have any of you found an intentionally side-notched dovetail? I can't find reference to any. Sorry no as it lay pic..forgot my camera that day.

i have found a broken dove with a spokeshave placed on the blade.unfortunately yours looks like damage.a spokeshave on a dove is probably not all too common.that is a great find archer66
