Hunted this mornin with pl8man and found two gold items today. Early on I dug the small pendant that tested 14k. Abuot hour or less later another low signal in the same range. Dug it up and first thought it was a gold heart shaped pendant, but it was just a bend in what I realized was a ring. :laughing7: Its marked 14k. Does any one have ideas on the gem type? I first thought the gem was yellow color, but from the side it looks like a light green or translusent green. Funny thats the second gold item I've dug up with anchors on it in two weeks. Whats with the anchors? :icon_scratch: Any ways HH all!

Could be a Tourmaline or a Peridot. IF you are lucky.... Alexandrite.

Awesome finds. Heliodor (beryl) can have that green to yellow transition. Large perfect specimens are not cheap, though I don't know the exact cost. Other guess would be a green-yellow garnet - demantoid. I'm real curious to know what it actually is if you find out.

I'm going to second Lakemonster on the Alexandrite possibility --- that would be an insane size and disgustingly valuable if it exhibits color transition. Though you'd have to confirm it was natural. Ooohhh what great potential this find has. Can't wait to hear what it is.

Thanks for the info guys. Im gonna try and find some text on those.

it's really hard to tell from the pic but at first glance the pic looks like peridot. Most peridot stones I see are oval cut. I'm having a hard time remembering if I have ever seen one in an emerald cut. hmmm...... strange. fantastic finds though... congrats! :headbang:

Nice ring and pendant and thats a lot of clad too....

So far I as i can tell, and i looked up all those gems, Heliodor looks the closest. i guess theres no way to really tell.

Man Ryan you are on fire with the gold lately ! Congrats ! I'm off tomorrow again lets get out early and find some more !
Glen

Well done, congratulation!!

I would take it to a jewler who has a good diamond tester, the good ones can tell buy the number its tests out to.I found a white opal one time and I had it tested, it tested to 7 on the tester.
On the back of the tester, it showed all the different stones and there number. Happy hunting.:icon_thumleft:
