double die penny

ill try to get a close up so you can see the double stamp!

Either you have a hub doubling or it is not a major error. The ones folks are looking for at high prices are the 1955, 1972, 1983, 1984, 1995, 2004 in cents the 1916 in nickels. These are all double dies. There are some like the 1944-d/s cent, the 1918/17-d nickel, the 1943/2-P nickel, the 1949-d/s nickel, the 1955 - s/d nickel, the 1955-d/s nickel, the 1942/1 dime, the 1942/1-d dime, 1950-d/s quarter, 1950-s/d quarter that are called overdates or over mint marks. There is a book called the cherrypickers guide by wexler or pope that gives closeup photos of these. exanimo, ss
