:/..
. A brass wedding band marked 18K inside and a thimble. the domed threaded piece i dug in the chimney pile of a cellar hole and the slick copper was just under it both in the same hole. If anyone can tell me what it is I'd appreciate it.looks almost like it had a shank like loop on the top and broken off.

nice finds!

What a great collection of finds Heavymetalnut! Looks like to you have a couple of very productive sites. I guess we're lucky living here in Southern New England, and that we're not ( yet) buried in snow like our fellow hunters up North. Keep the posts coming!

Nice finds Dave. Just a guess, but maybe the mystery item is a screw on top from part of an old auto or carriage lantern. Nice 1828 Matron also. Looks like the large, narrow date variety, and in good enough shape you may be able to get a Newcomb attribution. Congrats.
