Toasted came up to the people's republic of new jersey to try out some urban detecting. my sites have been a little bit dry lately so i was hoping for the best. We found an area of the property where i hadn't hit, and began pulling wheat after wheat...and shallow too. i pulled one just under the surface, and most were 2"-4" (I got 13 wheats and toasted got at least a dozen i think). i got a solid 12-44 on the etrac at 4" and was expecting a clad dime. instead it was this
The second barber dime was pretty cool. I looked down and saw that someone had come before me and dug a plug right by a big root. I swung over the spot and got a pretty slamming silver dime signal...12-45. I guess they had gotten lazy and didn't want to deal with the root. I dug in from the opposite side of the root and saw this at only about 3"
Other notable finds were a hem weight, a New York Telephone Company tag of some sort, and what i think is another front piece from a two-piece US Army Staff Officer's button (a similar one i dug is to the left, the one i dug today is on the right).
