Got out in the woods and the oysters again with both the XP Deus and the Equinox 800 and scored some good relics and coins at Civil War Camp site (multiple hunts). Best finds are double 1858 Flying Eagle Cents dug about 20 yards apart. All of the finds were dug live on video and can be seen on the YouTube link below.

The green colored cross piece is a percussion cap from a Sharps 45 carbine rifle, used at the end of the Civil war. Have dug several of those myself, and had a civil war expert verify that ID...overall really nice finds. Hope to dig a flying eagle cent one day ! Keep on digging !

Really good finds! I've only found two flying eagles in 50 yrs and you find two at one time!!

Those FEC's are in super condition! Congrats to you. I've come across 4-5 over the past several years , but they always seem to be in rough shape.

Wow ... that's fantastic - two in Flying Eagle Cents in one day - congrats !

Beautiful Flying Eagles! I'm very jealous but it's good to know they're still out there (I haven't found one yet, though I did get an 1859 IHC).

better condition than most dug ones posted. very nice!

Still looking for one of those myself! I'd be back there today, with the recovery speed lowered and work it slower. Gotta be more goodies! :icon_thumright:

Congrats,

They don't get much nicer than that.

They are a tough coin to come by.

Wow, rare coins for sure. Still looking for my first.
