Here is a place near Salerno, south Italy, where we find a crash site of a Dornier 217. Airplane crashed in 16 september 1943. Some idea about parts and about crew of airplane? Thanks.

Great pictures and very nice hunt! That ring is awesome but the airplane parts look like a bunch of melted aluminum, looks like you found the crash site for sure! Thanks for sharing your Italian finds, I enjoyed it. HH, Mike
 

Looks like a lot of work in the jungle?? WTG on finding it and all of the hard work. Are you the only ones who know about the wreck?? Is it American??
 

That was one of Germany's best bombers. I believe it carried the largest bomb load of any German bomber, and had great speed as well. Love it!
 

Now that is a hike to the site.
