DORMONT, Pa. -- Police said there is no buried treasure to be found at Dormont Community Park.
Police patrolled the park overnight after spotting the mother and uncle of Michael Larkin digging for money.
Larkin was recently arrested and charged in two burglaries.
His uncle told police Larkin had buried money in the park before his arrest.
Dormont Police Sgt. Duane Moriarity said, "He said he was going to try and recover $1,200 that was hidden there by Michael Larkin. Michael Larkin had called from the Allegheny County Jail asking them to recover the money he had supposedly hidden in a tin."
Police said Larkin believed if his family thought there was money in the park they would bail him out of jail to help search for it.
