Don't Laugh but..

This may sound weird but i have found this style pull tab from time to time and usually fairly deep and was just wondering what they were from or how old etc.Just curious..

Actually Big Rig I had the a thought about this too. I think I know where you are going here. I found a similiar one and then what I considered to be the older type with the rounded edge and ring. I figured if I found those at a certain depth ( 6") or whatever it was, then this is about where i would expect to find all of the coins and everthing else plus the time frame of the finds . The older the tab, the older the coins. This has proved to be true on the house sites I have been digging up.Even though they were built mostly in the 50s down here in Lauderdale it always seems to be a telltale sign. I am working a 1910 home site now but the earliest finds so far are some 1945 wheats so go figure. HH

I never had the privilege to dig a tab like that.Every other tab ever made though.
Sorry i can't help you ID it or date it ; but i'm sure someone out there can.
It would be interesting to find out. HH!

Not a big fan of "da Irn an dat" but that is a very cool item. If you have to dig a tab it might as well be unique.

Good one Dano. We should go into business making solid silver tie clips in the shape of pop tabs. Or I guess we could plate some of the thousands we already have... Maybe even matching cuff links

Can't remember which movie it was a saw a long time ago about the future, but some guy had chain mail armor made out of pull tab's.
